Deborah creates hand painted miniature wooden houses, historical buildings, mills, pubs, shops and cafes. She even recreates a row of mill cottages or a street of shops. Deborah uses wood off cuts where possible to create the basic shape of a building then applies Acrylic paints to produce a realistic and detailed effect with colours and textures . She has been commissioned to recreate many private homes and has produced a miniature of the Belper East mill for the conservation work of the building .

Deborah will show how to select pieces of wood which act as a base then to add any additional shapes. The main demonstration will be the application of paint. There will be examples of miniature buildings including some from the Leek area on display.
