Donna is a Leek based coloured pencil artist specialising in highly detailed wildlife and pet portraits.
Her work captures the character, presence and emotion of each subject through meticulous layering
and attention to texture, light and form. Working from her home studio, she creates original pieces
and limited edition prints, as well as bespoke commissions. Inspired by a deep connection to animals
and a desire to give them a voice, her drawings aim to evoke both admiration and awareness through
striking realism and quiet storytelling.
Describe what you will be demonstrating at the event
I will be demonstrating my coloured pencil process in real time, working on either a current petcommission or a wildlife piece. Visitors will see how I build depth, texture and realism through careful layering, focusing on details such as fur, light and expression to bring each subject to life. I will also
share insights into my creative approach, including how my connection with animals influences each
piece and forms part of an ongoing, personal narrative. The demonstration offers an honest look at
both the technical skill and emotional intent behind my work.
