Jane Clowes is a Staffordshire based ceramic artist. She makes a range of hand built domestic ware using white earthenware which is constructed using a wrapping technique. Jane also makes a range of hand decorated tiles with her own bird drawings on. Her work is influenced by the Staffordshire tradition and mid century design. Jane’s work is decorated with coloured slips and patterns and her drawings of birds are applied over the transparent glaze as ceramic transfers.
