Sarah Taylor Studio 2022
Sarah Taylor is a surface pattern designer who combines her love of drawing, painting, printmaking, and computer-aided design to create patterns or placement prints which she applies to a range of ceramics, home wares, textiles, greeting cards and giftwrap.
Sarah’s background is in Interior styling for the show home industry, before returning Leek College on The Foundation Degree and completing her Degree in Surface Pattern Design at Staffordshire university.
Sarah started her business in 2013, working from her dining table and box room whilst building her purpose-built studio with her husband in the garden.
Sarah has many influences including Gustav Klimt, designers Guild, Timorous Beasties and Angela Harding just to name a few, but she finds herself most inspired by taking photographs of interesting places and buildings, birds, flowers, and insects in her garden and on her travels. Sarah is currently working on a new project, using her photographs and drawings to make dry point etchings and collagraph’s plates to print from.
You can find Sarah and her work at The Fox & Crow Gallery which she co-owns which is inside the Foxlowe Arts Centre.
