Dark Sky Pottery 2023

Kim Bradford is a Staffordshire-based potter who creates beautiful burnished, smoke-fired sculptures and bright coloured functional ware, such as jugs, mugs and bowls. She has been working with clay for over 20 years and has developed a unique style that combines traditional techniques with modern design.

Kim has worked as Dark Sky Pottery for the last 5 years as it reflects her love of nature and interest in contrasting texture and colour. The name comes from living near the Peak District with its areas for looking at the stars She was inspired by growing up on farms and her mother who was a sculptor. She learnt wheel throwing and glazing over several years at evening classes. Most recently Kim has been developing a range of pots that are inspired by the colours of the local hills and rocks.
