I attended Leek School of Art and Crafts from 1970 until 1973. This was a fantastic grounding for my practice, we were taught all of the foundational skills that were needed. I then started my career in mental health practice until I retired in 2014. I continued to paint and draw and in 2016 until 2019 completed my BA 1st Hons in fine art.

Throughout the years I have exhibited in a variety of open exhibition. Most recently myself and 3 other artists who were at art school together in the 70’s had an exhibition at Nicholson Institute in leek entitled ’50 years on’.

My work has had various themes over the years ranging from the depiction of human movement, life drawing, to paintings of the Potteries before the second world war.

I moved back to Leek in April 2022 and now run a Life Drawing group at the Foxlowe Arts Centre which is very well attended.
